# Group Objects

When grouping objects, child objects will be assigned to all objects of a single group-object. This will help to organize your scene. Once you have selected more than one object, you can use <mark style="color:blue;">**CTRL**</mark>**+**<mark style="color:blue;">**G**</mark>, **right-click > Group Objects**, or from the Edit menu:

## **Selecting within Groups**

Once objects are grouped, their child objects can't be selected as usual with a single click. Therefore the editor can "jump" into each level of grouping to still be able to change children of groups. A simple **double-click** on a grouped object will open the group and disable all other items outside the group.

The orange highlighted editor will indicate that you are within a group. Use the <mark style="color:blue;">**ESC**</mark>**&#x20;Key** on your keyboard to leave the group.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help3.depence.com/depence-construction/depence-scene-graph-and-grouping/depence-group-objects.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
