# Connection example for recording DMX values via the 4 DMX XLR connectors of the vServer.

This example shows how Universe 1 and 2 can be read in on the vServer. \
When Depence is connected, the DMX data is transfered to Depence and can be recorded in a DMX track using the recording function in the timeline.

Use an output <-> input adapter to reverse the XLR DMX outputs.

In the following example, DMX port 4 is used to receive control signals via DMX input. In this case, the maximum fountain height and the maximum lighting brightness is controlled via two external DMX signals.
